2019 Starts out with Rising Waters on Lake Lanier

Large amounts of Rainfall Start the New Year on Lake Lanier and North Georgia.  With the abundance of water flowing into Lake Lanier right now, as of January 7, 2019, the lake level is about 3.4 feet ABOVE full pool which presents a great deal of concern for certain situations on the lake, including but not limited to:

1)  Docks not being accessible by land--some ramps and gangways heading to the docks are completely under water and you can only reach them by boat.

2)  Many Electric Boxes are Under Water as Well, and if there is a live electric feed to those boxes, this could be very dangerous, because of risk of shock or electrocution.

3) With rising water comes much new debris and foreign objects floating about the Lake. Sticks and all kinds of washouts are pooling in certain areas, and low lying shrubbery and trees are covered by the rising water and could be an issue for boaters who don't see the hidden hazards.

4) Several boat ramps on Lake Lanier have been closed temporarily because some of the access ramps are under water.

If you are searching for homes on Lake Lanier, be mindful that water levels at the docks at this time are not normal and are approximately 3.5 feet above full pool.  Make sure you research normal lake levels in areas where you are looking.  If you have any questions or would like to search for lake properties, please feel free to search at http://lovinglakelanier.com where you will find the most comprehensive Lake Search for Lake Lanier including dock descriptions, waterfront options, etc.  For more information you may call/text Jamie Chapman with The Chapman Group, Keller Williams Community Partners, 770.744.0760 or call main office 770.341.7400.
